Whedon Previews Buffy Finale

Joss Whedon has set the stage for "Two to Go" and "Grave," the Buffy the Vampire Slayer two-parter that will close out the series' sixth season. "The season finale is all about how can Buffy [Sarah Michelle Gellar] and the others save Willow [Alyson Hannigan] before she goes so far [with her addiction to magic] that there's no turning back, before there's nothing left?" Whedon said in an interview. "Willow just flayed a guy alive [in last week's episode, "Villains"], so she's already gone pretty far."

The finale, Whedon added, will be in keeping with the overall tone of this past year. "We wanted to go to the dark place," Whedon said. "A lot of people got pretty scared when we did, but we just wanted to explore the dark side of power and of growing up and responsibility. The season has a great coherence that way. I think we made some great eps." Buffy the Vampire Slayer airs Tuesdays on UPN. "Two to Go" and "Grave" will both air May 21.
