Doug Liman has been tapped to direct the Fox drama pilot "The O.C." for Warner Bros. Television. Liman is stepping in to helm the project -- about young adults trying to find their way in the affluent world of Orange County, Calif. -- after director McG had to bow out because of scheduling conflicts on his feature project "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle." McG remains attached to "The O.C." as an executive producer and will be actively involved in the development of the pilot. Stephanie Savage, McG's partner in his Wonderland Sound and Vision production banner, also is attached to "The O.C." as a supervising producer. Liman, repped by CAA, is attached to direct Regency Enterprises' action-adventure feature "Mr. and Mrs. Smith." Nicole Kidman and Brad Pitt are in negotiations to star. Liman's other feature credits include 1999's "Go" and 1996's "Swingers." (Nellie Andreeva)
don't get me wrong. Liman directed uber-Matt in "The Bourne Identity" and it was he and Damon that kept the piece honest and awesome, but sweet muscular Jesus, a show about life in Orange fucking County?
er, no offense Jul. :spin:
